Ball dresses

That is the best dress I have ever seen and I want it.

I went to four balls in total, three for my school, and out of all four there was only one dress that I loved, and that was the cheapest of them all. My mum made it.

I think Sian's advice is the best: Get one you can wear again. I've never understood the way girls can throw oodles of money at a dress they're never going to touch again. This is acceptable for a wedding dress, but school ball? No. One of the girls at my school bought Gucci!

Find something you're comfortable wearing, because there will be a lot of dancing and running around, and the last thing you want to do is spend the whole night freaking out that you're going to split a seam or have nipple slippage. Make sure it's a colour that suits you, and whatever you do, don't copy your friends. I saw this happen a lot too, where groups of girls would all buy similar dresses, and it was just sad!

These were my dresses, from Year 11 to 13. The last dress was my favourite, but none of those are particularly good photos.

I've decided to wear a tutu, a corset, a mask and my doc martens. Purely because I know all the other girls going are going to go for the long silky pastel coloured dresses that I like to call 'The Obvious Choice'.
Also because I already own these things.

Ive never been to a ball but I did go to a semi formal once, I took my dress off halfway through to exchange it for my fisherman pants and beatles shirt

I loved my dress so much, it was only $290 which I think is a steal compared to some of the dress prices (My friend in that photo, her dress cost $500!!)

I do alot of performances and that dress is perfect for me to wear for that as well. I'm definately getting my money's worth.

Unfortunately you can't really see it in the photos but my dress was a purple-y/brown colour and whenever I moved you could see flashes of blue. It was gorgeous!

God im in love with short bubble dresses right now. Even though you see them on the rack and possibly think "Hmm. thats not going to suit my body type" i put them on and they make my legs seem so much better and AH!

I saw the most incredible vintage dress at a secondhand store but it cost a tenner and I only had like, £6.
So I went back with £15 today but it was gone. =[

My cousins cousins grandmother(not the one she shares with my cousin) bought her a $1600 Lisa Ho dress for her year 10 formal. And, she stayed on for years 11 and 12.

this is the dress I bought today in London. It's a bad photo but it was the best one to show the details of the dress because it was black so they blended in on all the other pictures I took (also the discolouring is because i had to change the contrast and stuff to make the details more visible)
What do you all think?
I'm wearing it with fishnets and red high heels. Doesn't look as trampy as I just made it sound.
