Make-up savvy people, I need your help! Mum just gave me a lipstick from Avon that she doesn't like. It's called "Taupe" and is a darker brown colour. It looks good on me, but I don't know what kind of eye make-up I would do with it, considering that I would wear it when I go out at night. I had a similar coloured lipstick for my school ball (but a tiny bit darker, I think) and I had brown eye make-up, but I barely remember how it was done. The only brown eye make-up I can do is fairly boring, basically darker brown on my eyelid and a very light beige colour up to my brow bone, with usually black eyeliner. I don't know how to do cool stuff!

I think it actually looks a tad darker when I'm wearing it than it does in that first photo. Would I just do brown eyes, or something else?

I think you could do whatever you wanted to your eyes. The colour looks almost nude on you. It's quite subtle.

Haha I am so useless with eye make-up that isn't in neutral shades, I have no idea what to do. Maybe I should buy one of those cool-looking Maybelline palettes that has instructions on the back...

If you go to make up counters in store like myer and david jones, can't you ask for tips on how to use make up and even get them to show you?

Today I bought a Chi Chi loose powder eye shadow in a shimmery electric blue colour, and a Napoleon Set lipstick in Sheer Beige. Now I have this sudden urge to buy lots of pretty make-up! I want to get all the Chi Chi eye shadow dusts haha, they're all so pretty.

I want to buy a shimmery baby blue eye shadow that I saw on the Chi Chi website, but I couldn't find it at Target or the pharmacy, or at Myer when I looked ages ago. This one:

Does anyone know of any other brands that do something similar?

With that lipstick (back to the top!) You dont realllyyy want anything TOO DARK because you'll look like we are back in the 90s.

It looks darkish though, so thats why im saying.

Do you know how to do the light colour as a base, dark colour on the outside bit of your eyelid ect bit?
I like to use a light brown, dark brown and then a slight tiny bit of a black blended in right on the very outside of the crease - you get that depth without it looking like your whole eye is dark.

Looking at your eyeshape you could easily pull colour up over your eye bone thing - ill explain anoher time when dinner is not ready!!

Eyeshadow I normally just go for mif range (like maybelline etc) as they stay on longer than the stuff from ICE accessories. Unless I use a heap of concealer

I think I should go have a look at MAC stuff next time I'm at Myer. I always walk past and think how cool it looks but never really look because I convince myself I can't afford it.

I quite like the Napoleon Set from Target. I have a duo eyeshadow thing (light silver and sparkly grey) and a beige lipstick. It's not really a whole lot cheaper than actual Napoleon and it seems to be good quality, plus from what I can tell some of the shades (eg. in eyeshadow) are the exact same shades as "real" Napoleon.

Real Napoleon is just like covergirl or something, with more shades and a different sticker on it.

Actually, its a bit highter pigmented (yep dont think thats a word!) but its not that different to other stuff you can buy and still do the same job with.

Then again so is mac prob. Their eyeliner though is serisouly the best i have ever owned.

Napoleanz is Australianz though, so you know, its better.
