Costume ideas (again)

Okay, flapper idea is dead because I couldn't find a tassle dress I liked and none of the girls I've talked to are really costuming up. And apparently last year's theme was Chicago so it's pretty similar styling and therefore has been done. Plus, I bought this gorgeous dress today that I'll wear instead.

I have a friend's 21st coming up and the theme is 'm' I thought of going as a muggle but I don't think that would cut it

I'm looking at the new timetable and trying to work out what they've done...have they moved acts to different stages or something? Or are they starting later... It's bugging me that I can't work it out!

Thinking about throwing a costume party for my 22nd birthday; still a wee while away but ideas would be good. So far I'm thinking possibilities could be:

... or just "Costume Party" and people can wear whatever they like!

Meanwhile, I have to come up with a costume for a "Rio Carnival - with a bit more clothes on" party.

I lvoe how she had to specify "with a bit more clothes on" but still. Hmm... so feathers, sequins, im pretty sure i'll have to go to spotlight and make it myself for this one.

It's not for ages but El is having a 'Cops and Robbers' theme for her birthday. She wants all the girls to go as cops and all the boys as robbers. I think I know how I can do most of my outfit - buy a blue shirt and tie it up all sexy-like, and wear the black shorts, fishnets and black heels that I already have. But I don't know where to find a police hat (preferably to buy not hire, in case I lose it when we're out). Maybe in toy shops/the toy section of Big W, etc?

Toys R Us usually have a huge costume section.

Ladies...if anyone has seen/does see a blue shirt that I could wear as part of my police costume in a shop, can you please let me know what shop it is? I'm thinking a business-style shirt that I can tie up all skank-like at the front haha, but I'm not really sure where I'd find one, I always see white business shirts but not really blue... Either a womens' blouse or a really small guys' shirt. Hmm maybe I should try looking in the boyswear section at Target/Kmart/Big W and get a larger size? Now I'm thinking out loud!

Rivers and Lowes or other such shops. Target, Kmart and Big W should also have them.

yeah or even Vinnies or something, I know that bra's and things have buttloads of sexy outfits and stuff.

Im thinking maybe if I buy just a plain miniskirt, and cover it completely in feathers (and of course, making a feather bustle, because come on, when again will I get a chance to wear a feather bustle?) but I dont know for the rest...

Maybe a sequin bikini-style top. Not sure where you'd find that but if you have the time, you could make one.

Sharma's hens night next Saturday is themed 'Every Mans Fantasy'. Of course all the girls started picking out sexy police officer costumes, naughty nurses, French maids etc. Michelle and I were like, "You be the TV and I be the remote? Done."

We're getting peer pressured into following the sexy route though so I've started scouting costumes online, so far my favourite is this Queen Of Hearts get-up:


Although my hair will be flame red that weekend, so I was thinking Poison Ivy would be fantastic! In which case this costume, with green leggings and boots, and minus the snake (it's an 'Eve' costume) would be awesome...

Ok I'm definitely going as Poison Ivy, wearing that dress with green leggings, boots and gloves. Found everything today. Very excite! Looks like St Patty's celebrations might be on in town the same night too so my green costume will be extra awesome! Squee!
