What foundation did you get Tash? I want to spend a decent amount of money on a good foundation but I have noooo idea what to get.

Also I pretty much just came here to tell you that anyone who likes lipstick even a little bit needs to jump onto ASOS asap and buy some Rimmel Apocalips. They are amazeballs.

Go to the counter at Myer/David Jones/Mecca and get them to find one for you. It all comes down to what kind of coverage you want and what works with your skin. Like my new Bobbi Brown is good but a bit runny so it doesn't work well with my foundation brush but my Lancome/Estee Lauder one is a little thicker and works goes on smoother.

I've heard all of Bobbi Brown's foundations have yellow undertones which I don't think would work for my skin. I might go to a counter in England because high end products are a little cheaper there.

I got MAC Studio Sculpt. I told the girl I have dry skin and want something that's light to medium coverage but can be built up to full if I feel like it (I usually wear my makeup a lot heavier when I'm going out at night). She said Sculpt would be perfect and so far I've found it to be great. Looks really smooth on, almost flawless, feels lovely and not too thick.

I bought a Natio BB cream last week and am loving that as well, it's so light and refreshing with lovely coverage, and quite hydrating. I like it a lot!

Dude. You have just changed my life. I never even thought of using ASOS for makeup. Their prices are insanely cheap! Rimmel products are all $20+ over here. Everything is, like, $9 on ASOS! With free shipping! Shocked

I had a look online for foundations for dry skin and a lot of people recommend the studio sculpt. Might have to have a look, I think you can get samples so I might check out the counter here before I go so I can give it a try. I have a sample of the Natio BB cream too! Except it's medium so it's going to be too dark on me. I've tried a few BB creams and the only one I've liked is one I won from a girl who got it from Indonesia.

And yes! ASOS is great for makeup, except I got a bit screwed around when I did my order because when I placed my order it said that the order didn't go through, so I did another one and ended up with 2 orders, and it took 3 emails to get them to agree to refund me for shipping because they couldn't stop the order being shipped out, even though I emailed them as soon as it happened.

Funny, I was just looking at them today but I was after a matte finish. Ended up with one of the Kate long-lasting lipsticks, in nude which is exactly what I wanted, pretty excited to try it out.

Oh good to know! I've been wanting a good BB cream but I get so picky with face stuff. Maybe I'll try this out.

That's probably why it's so popular with Asians cause we have natural yellow undertones.

Oh I'll have to look on ASOS and Subie is yours shade 7, I quite like Rimmel's Kate Moss range.

I haven't tried many BB creams here I've only used Asian ones but they cost so much from the Asian stores. I have used Garnier and Revitalift BB cream but my problem is I often have a dry nose so it looks flaky and gross

You win! I know of people who've gone to those and they have great bargain!

I'm really disappointed with the price of makeup in Malaysia. I went to Sephora and everything is cheaper online ($70aud for naked pallet... you can get it for $55 online) and MAC is the same price as in England.

That sucks.

Back to BB cream, I'm not that impressed with Natio after all. It's okay, but I think I preferred Garnier, and that's about $7 cheaper.

I think Sephora really is only cheap in the US. I usually just stick to buying make up duty free in Asia unless I'm in Hong Kong or Singapore where I know I can find it cheaper than here.

I have the Garnier BB cream, I wish it gave a touch more coverage without having to load it on because I barely notice a difference in my skin when I wear it

I don't like the Garnier BB cream, it leaves me a bit shiny. I bought the Natio one but I haven't used it yet.

Hmm, see I have super dry skin and found the Garnier was just right. Natio feels a tiny bit too dry for me. So maybe it'll be perfect for you?

(It is NICE, by the way, just not "omg life changing!" like I made it sound initially.)

So Mum and I went to this this afternoon. Thought I'd get a foundation brush, some blush, and maybe a lipstick. Went a little crazy and spent $230 ...oops.

Got my nails did. Figured I gotta make a good impression on Tavi Gevinson and the rest of these "cool young women media makers" or whatever somehow! At least if I have cool hands they won't notice if I drop pastry/crumbs/coffee all over myself, right?

I recently discovered Avene Thermal Spring Water. I've got a similar spray for my face from Dermalogica but this one is way cheaper and can be used all over. It is just water but it feels really nice and refreshing and makes my skin feel soft and is really calming on my eczema.
