I went mascara shopping yesterday and ended up buying Maybelline Great Lash as I didn't want to spend too much, and my beauty guru friend Krystal recommended it as a must-have for every girl's handbag. I've also seen it featured on a few '10 Cult Beauty Products' style lists recently, so decided it'd be worth a shot. For the money, I'm really impressed - it's definitely not as good as my usual (L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D), but for $22 as opposed to $38 I'm certainly not complaining. It has a small wang which I actually found a lot more manageable than the long wands I'm used to, and it's a lot wetter which was annoying when I sneezed and got mascara stripes underneath both eyes, but the wetness actually made it a lot easier to clean up. I simply wiped it away and there was no trace left, whereas my usual mascara is quite tricky to clean away if I smudge it during the application process. (You'd think I'd be a pro at mascara application after ten years, but nope.)

All in all, I'm pleased!

I always wanted a Great Lash mascara, they're just so classic! But I can't justify buying another mascara when I already have three different ones.

I'm going to the outlets in Honululu today, gonna buy all the make ups!
Need a new powder, eyebrow pencil and eyeliner, I have the Benefit Are they real (I don't think this is actually what it's called, but it's something like that) mascara and if it's cheap I'll buy like 10 of them because they are amazing!

So funny you mention that Anna, I just read a bunch of stuff online last week about how Benefit They're Real! is THE best mascara around, and it's been on my mental wish list since.

I have a mini and I'm not a huge fan. I love love love their Badgal mascara, which is more volumising than lengthening. I need to buy another one...

Yeah, when I bought it i didn't realise how crazy expensive it was ($38) and would never normally spend that much but it's worth it!

If you have friends who like benefit you could buy off their online website at the american prices, so it's $19 instead. Not worth it to just buy the mascara, but if you wanted other things it makes it worth it. That is if you haven't already bought it in Hawaii, lucky duck.

I won a giveaway recently with a Nars mini duo with Orgasm and Laguna, and an Uran Decay Ammo eyeshadow palette (which is their top 10 selling shadows). They are the best things ever.

Orgasm is my go-to daily blush and I love it so much. SO much better than MAC blushes in my opinion, best blush formula on the market.

Also Klerr I want that Chocolate Palette so freakin' bad I've been trying to justify it to myself for ages. Fuck.

ALSO I just got Naked 3 in the mail and I love it!!! So much!!!

I've wanted a Naked palette for so long, but haven't been able to bring myself to spend $100+ on eyeshadow. Is it worth it? Really?

It worked out to be like $80, which isn't that much more than the Too Faced palette mentioned earlier in this thread honestly. Were you looking at shipping services? They're probably the best eyeshadows I've ever used but it's hard because I don't know anyone who can honestly say they use EVERY color in an eyeshadow palette. So whether it's worth it is up to you I guess?

They're $115 in NZ at the cheapest. Shipping on Ebay is killer, or doesn't go to NZ at all. I've heard the ChiChi palettes are a good alternative so I might get one of those first.

I've got an MUA palette, they're an English brand and their palettes are £4 each and they're almost as good as the naked palette. Try that out too Tash. But also, you spend $10-$20 on a good quality single eyeshadow, and you get 12 eyeshadows in the naked palette, so you save money. I use almost all the shades in my naked palette, bar the 2 glitter shades and the grey. Do you have problems with the glitter shades Alex? Maybe I should remember to use primer...

The Chocolate palette is probably better value than the Naked palette, there's more colours and I love how much highlight colour you get. I've almost run out of the highlight colour in my MUA palette and I've only had it a year.

The blush is Gilda, I haven't actually gone into the store to see them... I'm guessing it'll be a bit different to what I see on my computer screen. I bought a Mac blush in England, Peaches, and I really like it, just as much as Orgasm.

I have "Pinch Me" by MAC which is an old limited edition but I have problems with the application? The colours are beautiful, but I feel like they apply really heavy and I often go "oh shit" and have to sort of backtrack, whereas with NARS blushes I pick up just the right amount of colour to build it really nicely. I was wondering about the colour of that blush because I've gone into stores to see them all 5,000 times (because I really want a peachy NARS blush that isn't as glittery) but I haven't seen one that looks like that. Maybe it is different in real life.

I love wearing glitter shades but the glitter doesn't last long on me, I've got to remember primer more often too.

Also Tash the Chi Chi baked eyeshadows are really pretty and even though they're individuals they're a better consistency than the shadows in those Chi Chi palettes, the colours are pretty good dupes but they're nowhere near as buttery and easy to apply/blend.

And I bought my palette directly from Sephora.com using a shipping service (shipitto.com or something, google Ship It To) and they ship it from Sephora to a big ol' warehouse then straight on to me. It's cheaper that way because you're paying the genuine US price of the product, the shipping can be exxy but it depends.

Does NZ have an official stockist of Urban Decay? I only ask because I don't think Australia does at all, I know in Melbourne there's shops that (assumedly illegally???) import and sell the Urban Decay products at stupid markup prices but thats all.

I think Beauty Bay is the only place you can buy Urban Decay legit here. Oh and Tarazz or something now? Sephora has cottoned on to shipping services now, I've heard of a few girls get their orders cancelled.

Eh on the one I used you can just search if anyone has ever been busted by any particular website, and no-one on shipitto has had a problem with Sephora, and my order was fine. Then again I'm not everyone so who knows.

Also just so ya know Klerr if ya wanna buy lollitint Adore Beauty has free shipping and a 14% off sale at the moment Wink
