Costume ideas (again)

What does one wear for a 1950's themed party? I can't afford to go to a costume shop, but I wouldn't know what to look for for that era anyway!

Something with a full skirt and tied in at the waist. Oh, and heels. I actually have a lovely 50-esque dress I'd lend to you if you didn't live so damn far away.

I found a black dress of my mum's that has a big, full skirt so I'm going to wear that, I suppose just with the heels that I wear every weekend. And she thinks I should get some long gloves, do you think I would be able to find them somewhere like Target?

As for the Pirate Masquerade night at Mint, I'm just going to wear my dress that is like a pretend corset and I asked Mum to see if she has any of those shiny cardboard masks that we used to get in lolly bags at her kindy and I think I'll just glue on sequins. So slack haha.

Yeah white gloves would be nice, you could probably find some in vinnies or something. Think mad men.

Spotlight sells white gloves in the bridal section for like $10.

For the record, I ended up buying gloves from Spotlight

But now I have ANOTHER dress up thing coming up, Mint nightclub is having a Halloween themed night in two weeks' time. I thought I could maybe be really lame and go as a devil: red top, black short shorts, black fishnets, heels and the devil horns I got in a showbag a few years ago. Or maybe a fairy, I could wear that pink skirt that Mitchell's dad described as a tutu and some sort of top (no idea what though?!) and my fairy wings from when I was little and I'm sure I could find a fairy wang somewhere. Or maybe I could just wear a black dress and a witches hat...

I don't know, I'm no good at this! Any ideas for easy Halloween costumes that wouldn't cost too much that I could also wear elsewhere after Mint?

Well, this newyears I'm going to the dress up party as lady goon goon. You basically get goon sacks and make a dress out of them, and have the ones on your shoulders puffed up so it looks like a space age costume.

I don't know if you would wear that after, and probably you don't have enough goon pillows lying around to make them (we do, haha mum you piss head).

What shoes would you wear? I know they wear white sneakers but im not sure about wearing them.... someone said heels but i dont rock heels with knee high socks.

As you might know, Hamish and Andy are doing a Thank You Tour to five of the capital cities in a couple of weeks and some friends and I are going to go to the one in Perth. The idea is to dress up as something to do with their show, something that they've done in the past, but I can't think of anything good! Kate suggested sperm because Andy once had to store his sperm... But does anyone have any other ideas?
